Wile 27 shows the moisture content of hay or silage forage, i.e. the water content by weight. The dry matter ratio is equal to 100% minus the moisture ratio, i.e. 30% moisture equals 70% dry matter
Hay and straw rot if the moisture content is too high; they can also heat up to dangerous levels in the process. Wile 27 ensures hay bales are dry enough for safe storage
