Mineral supplement for cows in the form of a bolus to reduce the risk of milk stroke.
1 bolus (192 g) contains 43 g of calcium
Composition: water 32.0%, calcium 22.2%, phosphorus 0%, sodium 0%, magnesium 0%.
Raw materials: calcium chloride, calcium sulfate, mono- and diglyceride fatty acids esterified with acetic acid.
Calcium compounds: calcium chloride 71.0%, calcium sulfate (as hemihydrate) 29.0%.
Usage and dosage: The bolus should be administered with a special Bovikalc applicator.
To prevent the risk of milk stroke, the dosage is 4 bolus per cow: the first bolus is administered at the first signs of calving, the second bolus - immediately after calving, the third bolus - 12-15 hours after calving, the fourth bolus - 24-30 hours after calving. To support milk fever therapy: 2 bolus per cow: the first bolus is administered 2-3 hours after infusion, the second after 12-15 hours.
Applicator instructions:
1. Insert the bolus into the applicator with the rounded end facing forward.
2. With your right hand: Stand on the right side of the cow. Grasp the cow’s upper jaw with your left hand and lift its head. Keep the cow’s head facing up and slightly towards you.
3. Gently insert the Bovikalc applicator with one bolus of Bovikalc into the cow’s mouth. When you feel resistance, gently guide the applicator over the tongue.
4. When the Bovikalc applicator is as far as it will go into the cow’s mouth, press the handle to release the bolus. Remove the applicator.
Warnings: Do not use in cows showing clinical signs of milk paralysis or in lying cows. Do not use in immobile cows. Observe the time interval between doses.
Bovicalc should only be administered with a bolus applicator. Do not use broken boluses. Do not use excessive force when administering the bolus.
Packaging: 4 × 192 g
Store in the original packaging. Store below 30°C. Remove from packaging only before use. Keep out of reach of children!
